In partnership with the I&J Cape Abalone farm, we are able to offer legal sustainably farmed Abalone. Our Abalone is sea-water farmed in South Africa and fed a natural diet of fresh Kelp. They are blast frozen after harvesting sealing in all the moisture and flavour.
Abalone has a crunchy texture when eaten raw. It is hard to describe how abalone tastes after cooking as it is a very unique taste, but the flavour is similar to scallop and the texture is tender if cooked well. It tastes rubbery if overcooked
Our I&J Cape Abalone has been certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council as an environmentally and socially responsible seafood.
