The term toro originates from Japan, where it is a delicacy. Tuna belly is considered the most premium part of the fish. The belly is a particularly fatty portion of the body that tastes great when seared or cooked on the braai. It retains a lot of moisture, so it has a highly juicy and delicious flavour and does not dry out quickly when cooked.
Our Yellow Fin Tuna has a medium-mild flavour with a firm yet extremely tender texture. Great to eat sashimi style or for searing.
