Butterflied Prawns take the fiddly prep out of cooking prawns at home. Each prawn has been split down the back, deveined and cleaned, so it opens flat and is ready to season and cook. Butterflying lets marinades and basting sauces get right into the flesh, and the prawns cook quickly and evenly, which makes them a braai favourite. Each pack holds 800g.
Baste them with garlic butter, peri-peri or lemon and herbs, and serve hot off the grill with charred lemon or lime and crusty bread to mop up the juices. They make an easy centrepiece for a braai, a seafood platter or a special dinner at home.
- Butterflied, deveined and cleaned: no prep needed, ready to season and cook
- Quick and even cooking: done in minutes on the braai, grill or pan
- 800g per pack: enough for a generous seafood feast
- Delivered frozen, straight to your door
Cooking Instructions: Thaw overnight in the fridge before cooking. Pat dry and brush the flesh side with butter or oil and your choice of seasoning.
Braai or grill: Cook flesh side down over hot coals or a hot grill for 2 to 3 minutes, then turn and cook for another 2 minutes, basting as you go.
Pan: Heat a little oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side.
The prawns are ready when the flesh turns white and opaque. Take care not to overcook them, or they'll turn rubbery. Serve immediately.
Allergens: Contains crustaceans (prawn).
