Cleaned Tail-On Prawns are the easiest way to put prawns on the table. They've been peeled and deveined with only the tail left on, which gives you a neat handle for dipping and a better-looking plate. With no shells to deal with at the table, they're ready for the pan, skewers or a curry straight after thawing. Each pack holds 800g.
Toss them in a hot pan with garlic, chilli and butter, thread them onto skewers for the braai, or stir them into a curry, pasta or stir-fry at the end of cooking. Serve with lime wedges for squeezing over. They're just as good as a quick weeknight dinner as they are as a starter for guests.
- Peeled, deveined and tail-on: no prep needed, ready to season and cook
- Versatile: pan-fry, braai on skewers, or add to curries, pasta and stir-fries
- 800g per pack: enough for a family meal or a crowd-pleasing starter
- Delivered frozen, straight to your door
Cooking Instructions: Thaw overnight in the fridge. For a quicker thaw, seal the prawns in a bag and place it in a bowl of cold water for 20 to 30 minutes. Pat dry before cooking.
Pan: Heat a little oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the prawns in a single layer for 1 to 2 minutes per side.
Braai or grill: Thread onto skewers and cook over hot coals for 2 to 3 minutes per side, basting as you go.
Curries, pasta and stir-fries: Add the prawns in the last 3 to 4 minutes of cooking and simmer until just cooked through.
The prawns are ready when they turn pink and opaque and curl into a loose "C" shape. A tight "O" shape means they're overcooked. Serve immediately.
Allergens: Contains crustaceans (prawn).
