Teriyaki Salmon

We are major salmon fans over here and this teriyaki salmon recipe is a winner! It’s so simple and doesn’t require any lengthy marinating, but is super flavorful. The Asian salmon turns out flaky, juicy and absolutely delicious with the homemade teriyaki sauce.

Active Time: 50 mins | Total Time: 1hr 35mins | Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1 T castor sugar
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 400g sushi grade salmon (or tuna)
  • 2 small sheets of Nori finely sliced
  • 1 t sea salt flakes
  • 1 t dried chilli flakes

Short Instructions:

Step 1

Place soy, mirin and sugar in a bowl and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add fish and set aside to marinade for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat a frying pan over a high heat, drizzle olive oil into pan and add the fish, reserving the marinade. Cook for 2-3min skin side down before tuning and cooking for 1/1:30 min on the other side. Cook to preference, we suggest that it's best left uncooked in the middle.

Step 3

Add the marinade and cook till heated through for about a minute. Serve fish topped with the seaweed salt and marinade for plating.
