Our Trout comes from a local farm near the Katse Dam in Lesotho. The trout grow for roughly a year before harvesting. The trout is blast frozen and then brought down to Cape Town where we process accordingly. Trout is known for its reddish-orange flesh with little fat lines, unlike the better-known Norwegian Salmon. Defrost before cooking.
The easiest and quickest way to cook your trout is to pan-fry it. Add a knob of butter and a tablespoon of olive oil to a hot pan. Season the trout with salt and pepper and any other spices of your choice. Place the trout skin down on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes before flipping the trout over. Cook for another minute and complete your dish with a squeeze of lemon or lime.

Rainbow trout are farmed on land in RAS tanks, which are customized tanks for rainbow trout (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems). This is a recirculating system, meaning it is either completely or partially closed to the ocean. Juveniles are developed in a hatchery using locally sourced materials. Rainbow trout eat a low-moderate quantity of protein-based and terrestrial-based food.

These are DELICIOUS!I made mine Asian style with soya sauce, Oyster Sauce, Sesame oil and rice vinegar.The 200gr pieces are a bit big for me, so the rest is always tomorrows snack.Have, and Would definitely buy again
All I can really say is, WOW. The spices I used was proper braai salt, garlic/ginger mix and dressed with olive oil. Cooked with hot olive oil and butter mix for about 3 mins on skin side, then turned and cooked for another minute. Eish, I definitely want more!
