Our Tuna is caught locally and is then blast frozen to ensure the freshness is locked in. The steaks need to be cooked and is not recommended to be eaten raw. We use either Yellowfin Tuna or Bigeye Tuna for our searing steaks. Bigeye is very similar to Yellowfin and is caught in the deep waters off the coast, all the way up to Mauritius.

Our Yellow Fin Tuna has a medium-mild flavour with a firm yet extremely tender texture.
Cooking
Defrost before cooking.
These tuna steaks need to be cooked before consuming. A quick sear is always a great way to create the best texture and flavour. 2-3min on each side on a medium heat. Alternatively, you can cook all the way through which takes roughly 4-5min each side. This can be used to make a delicious tuna salad.
